Luke 14:16-24
I love how some of the commercials on TV
tell us we must “Hurry and act now!
Before it's too late!
This offer won't last long!”
We have to act quickly while
the offer is being made.
I am often skeptical that the offer
will truly go away that quickly
Yet, I have missed out on some
things because I waited too long.
Perhaps the TV offer ended -
the coupon I clipped expired -
the product was sold to someone else
while I deliberated or procrastinated.
It happens sometimes.
When buying a product, it is likely
not a big deal. Maybe you don't
really need it anyway. Perhaps there
will be another similar, even better,
deal later. But in the case
of the offer of salvation,
there is no better deal!
You may never get another chance.
The Bible says, today is the day of salvation.
No one can afford to take the risk
of missing out on heaven
for any earthly reason!
The excuses the people made for missing
the banquet were not anything that
really should have prevented them from going.
They missed out!
The same might also be true about
ministry opportunities and blessings.
Don't let them pass you by.
It may not matter as much as
our salvation, but it does matter.
The Bible says to make
the most of every opportunity!
Prayer: Father, help us to realize that our
relationship with You and the purpose
that it brings to our lives
are the most important things.
Help us to set proper priorities.

from Paul for a more convenient time.
King Agrippa said Paul almost
persuaded him, but not quite!
How sad that some come so close
to heaven but miss out because
they let other things come first!
