Parable of the

"Let God Sort It Out"

Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43

We are not really capable of knowing
who is truly saved and who is not.
The Bible does say we can tell the
difference by their “fruits” and that we are to
“try the spirits and see if they are of God,”
but for the actual judgment of lost or saved,
only God really knows and has that authority.

So, what do we do about those who call
themselves Christians or are a part
of the church, but not really saved?
Let God sort it out!
The same can likely be said about
witnessing, teaching, preaching, etc.
Work with all and don't worry about
the results. God will reach
the right ones, produce fruit where
He wants, and sort out the lost at the end.

I remember when I was 20 years old,
that a few friends and I used to frequent
an all-night diner in Birmingham, AL.
There were two waitresses there
that we spent lots of time talking
to and often about the Lord.
One seemed to pay lots of attention to us.
The other never appeared to listen much.
Naturally, we focused on the one
who gave us the attention.

Eventually, the other one came to church
and re-dedicated her life to the Lord.
The attentive one? To my knowledge, she never did.
Maybe she just wanted the attention from us!
We just don't ever quite know who is
genuine and who isn't - but God does!
So just be faithful and let God handle the judgments!

Prayer: Father, we are so grateful that
Your judgments are based on truth
and that You know everything.
Help us to just concentrate on our part
of the work and leave the rest up to You.

P.S. A couple of questions you might consider:

What does this parable say to you about God?
What does it say about man?
