Day 12 - "Tell YOur Story"

Mark 5:1-20

In the daylight, cemeteries are peaceful, with green grass,
marble headstones, white crosses, and colorful flowers.
It can be interesting to read the markers.
You might learn about your relatives or
see funny names or wonder about strange
dates or the ages of those who died.
However, in the dark, cemeteries can be a little spooky.

Imagine someone living out there, outside the city,
where graves were often like caves.
A man roaming around under the control of demons,
out of his mind, violent, uncontrollable by humans!

That's who met Jesus when He and His
disciples landed their boat one day.
Jesus cast the demons out
of the man and changed his life!
The demons destroyed a herd of pigs nearby.
The people from town were afraid and
asked Jesus to leave them, which He did.,br>
The man who was now in his right mind, whole again
- a new man - was grateful that Jesus had
saved him and wanted to go with Jesus.
Instead, Jesus told him to go home and tell
his family and friends what God had done for him.

That is our commission, too! Go to our family and friends
- really anyone who might listen - and tell
them what knowing Jesus has done for us.
What does it mean to you to have Jesus in your life?
Figure that out and then share your story.

Prayer: Father, help us to realize just
what knowing you has done for us.
Then give us the courage to share
that with anyone who will listen.

P.S. Here’s a thought: since people do stroll
through cemeteries and read tombstones,
maybe we should make sure to have something
on there that would point them to Jesus!
Perhaps a Bible verse or just a word of
testimony about Him or how to get to heaven!
